The wonderful Rosie Caravan

Stuffed Rabbit in a dress

I use performance, film and installation, to produce site-specific temporary public artworks. My work explores themes of expression, sublimation and censorship, in personal and societal terms. Through the unorthodox juxtaposition of context and practise, I aim to elucidate and challenge the institutional and self-imposed conditioning with which we inhabit our selves and our social and physical environment.

I look at the personal in relation to the institutional, and the instinctual in relation to the conditioned. My performance ranges in style from the highly theatrical or bizarre, to the only just noticeably abnormal.

My work is sometimes interactive and always interventionist. I do not use gallery or designated ĎArtí spaces, but work in Real Life contexts, attempting to dissolve the boundaries between art and life.
